Hi guys it's Filippa. This morning I finished The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa; the sequel to The Immortal Rules.I suggest that you do NOT read this entry if you haven't read the first book, although there won't be spoilers so if you haven't read The Eternity Cure yet you're cool to go.
So the book is basically about when Allison is searching for her old master Kanin, who has been captured and tortured by a vampire called Sarren. Since Allison is Kanin's daughter she can feel where he is because of the blood bond between them. Also as Kanin gets more tortured he gets weaker, which means that the bond is getting weaker.
On her search for Kanin she meets an old enemy, Jackal, who is also her blood brother, and surprisingly, he is willing to help her search for Kanin.
So yeah, that is the plot of the book. And Oh My Freaking God I think I'm in love. For real though, the book was amazing. It's so good I freaking cried when I finished it this morning because I do not have the third part (I need it now!). The writing is really good and the character's are amazing. Everyone has their own flaws, nobody's perfect, and there are character development that you can see if you compare the character's to how they were in the beginning of the first book.
Does the book have any flaws? Many actually. But I think that the story is so good that I just kind of look past the flaws. And I've read the book in Swedish so the translation may have something to do with many of the flaws of the book. But as I mentioned; I don't really care about those flaws because I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the storyline and where it's heading. I am kind of obsessed with vampires so that could also be a factor to my love for the book.
Anyways, I think the second book was better that the first one, so if you've read the first one but not this one I highly recommend that you read it. There are a few plottwists (which are amazing) and it's really dramatic at some points. But the best of all; The ending. The End of the books seriously made me scream and cry and jump up and down. I'm still not able to start reading Paper Towns because I'm hyping over the ending of this book.
I would give the book 8/10 points in rating, and i recommend it to anyone who has only read the first book. Because I promise you; The Eternity Cure is better than The Immortal Rules. So if you liked the first book you are going to love the second one!
